How to Play 1

To make your Thanksgiving gathering more fun, you can ask your guests to bring a small, packed gift such as a candy or chocolate bar or anything else that is Thanksgiving-appropriate. Then, ask everyone to sit in a circle while holding the gift that they have brought in their hands. The narrator should start reading the story when everyone has taken their seats. Whenever the narrator says “right,” the participant should pass their gift to the person who is sitting on their right, and when the narrator says “left,” they should pass it to the person on their left. At the end of the story, each person will keep the gift that they are holding. It’s a great way to add some excitement to your Thanksgiving celebration!

How to Play 2

An alternative way to play this game is by using the classic pass-the-parcel format. To do this, prepare a parcel filled with goodies or favors and have the guests sit in a circle. The game starts with the narrator reading the story while the parcel is passed around the circle. If the narrator says “right”, the parcel should be passed to the person on the right. If the parcel is already being passed to the right, it should continue in that direction. The same goes for “left”. The parcel should be passed to the left and continue in that direction if it is already being passed that way. In this way, the parcel is passed around the circle while the story is being told. At the end of the game, the person holding the parcel gets to keep it as a prize.
