1. Blind Distance

How to Play
The game involves choosing an object in the distance and announcing it. Once the object is announced, all players close their eyes and wait for the car to reach the object. At that point, each player will call out “Now!” without revealing whether or not the car has reached the object. This will allow other players to continue guessing. Once all players have had a turn guessing and have opened their eyes, the driver will decide who the winner is. The game continues with either the driver or the winner of the last round choosing a new object.

2. I Spy

“I Spy” is a classic game that can be played in the car or any other place.
How to Play
The first player selects an object they can see without revealing what it is to others. Then, they say the famous phrase, “I Spy With My Little Eye something beginning with…” and mention the first letter of the object’s name. For instance, if the chosen object is a flower, the player would say “F”. The other players then look around and make guesses, trying to come up with objects that begin with the same letter. When someone correctly guesses the object, that player becomes the new “I Spy” and selects the next object. To accommodate small children who cannot spell, you can use colors instead of letters.

3. Car Count

How to Play
During a road trip, each person selects a unique car color. Whenever they see a car of their color, they call it out and keep track of the count. The person with the most sightings at the end wins.

4. Twenty Questions

How to Play
To play this game, one player thinks of a well-known identity and says, “Who am I?” The other players have to guess the correct name within 20 questions, which should be answered by a simple “yes” or “no.” The first player keeps track of the number of questions. Players should be able to figure out if the person is real or fictitious, an entertainer or a politician, in public life, etc. within the first few questions. If the group fails to guess the right identity within 20 questions, the player gets another chance to pick another identity for the group to identify. If the group guesses the identity within 20 questions, the player who makes the right guess gets a chance to ask, “Who am I?”

5. Old Dead Horse

How to Play
This is a fun game to play in the car and can be played by two or more people. The game involves chanting, “Old dead horse in the middle of the road,” while players take turns saying, “I one it,” “I two it,” and so on, up to “I seven it.” The next player must then point to another player and say, “I jumped over it, and you eight it,” indicating that the player they pointed to has “eaten the old dead horse.” If a player forgets to jump over it and says, “I eight it,” they are considered to have eaten the old dead horse. The player next to the person who “ate it” then starts the next round. Kids may enjoy substituting other animals for the horse, such as rat, goat, porcupine, skunk, and so on. This game will fill the car with lots of giggles.

6. Super Animals

How to Play
Ask each person to choose three different attributes from three different animals and combine them to create a super animal. They should also explain why they believe these attributes would be useful together. For instance, they may choose the loud roar of a lion, the size of an elephant, and the teeth of a shark. Then, they should give a name to this new creature, such as “Liophantark.”
