Free Printable DIY Christmas Escape Room {Melting Sculpture}

Escape Rooms are a fun way to spend some screen-free time. It is not always easy to find an Escape Room nearby, which is why I am sharing a Free Printable Christmas Escape Room called Melting Sculpture. This escape room has fun ciphers, puzzles, and riddles, and you can easily set it up at your home, school, or even at your office. You can even play this escape room while sitting around a table. All you need is a color printer, A4 sheets, and a pair of scissors to set up this game. I am even sharing printable envelopes with each puzzle, which makes the setup really easy.

Age Group: 8 plus

This escape room is suitable for teens, tweens, and adults. Younger kids can also join older kids. This escape room game comprises of 8 challenges and puzzles. There are 3 tip cards that the players can use when they feel stuck. You can assign a time limit of 50 or 60 minutes for this game.

I am sharing detailed instructions to set up each challenge, and I am also sharing the solution for all the puzzles at the end of this page. Players must go through all the challenges in the right sequence. Players are not allowed to use their cellphones during gameplay, as the main objective of this activity is to spend some screen-free fun time.

Supplies needed

• Printed Puzzle Sheets and Envelopes
• A pair of scissors
• A glue stick

How to Play

Assemble the envelopes for each puzzle. Print all the puzzle sheets and cut the puzzle pieces that require it. Now enclose each puzzle in its corresponding envelope. Give players 3 tip tickets before the game that they can redeem. Players have to solve all the puzzles before reaching the end, and the player or team who reaches the end first wins. Only hand over the next envelope if they provide the correct code.

If only one player or one team is playing, print just one set of all puzzles, but in case of more than 1 player or team competing against each other, print duplicate sets of puzzles.

Free Printable Hint Tickets for Christmas Escape Room

This is a set of printable hint tickets. Just click on this thumbnail and save the larger printable sheet, or click here to download the PDF. Print the tickets on a heavy cardstock sheet. Cut each ticket around the edges. You can give the players 3 or more tickets at the beginning of the game. The players can redeem the tickets if they get stuck and need a hint related to solving the puzzle or the solution. How much you want to tell them and help them is up to you.

Free Printable Christmas Escape Room Game Puzzle 1

This is the first puzzle and its envelope. You can either click on each thumbnail and save the larger printable or click here to download the PDF. Cut the envelope around the edges and fold it on the dotted lines. Secure the edges with the glue. Print the puzzle sheet and cut along the dotted lines. It will create a Tetris tile-like puzzle. The players first have to assemble the puzzle and then read the message. The message uses letters and numbers, and some words are underlined. The letters provided in those words lead to the next clue.

Christmas Melting Sculpture Escape Room Challenge 8 Printable

This challenge comprises of two sheets. You need to print these on heavy cardstock paper and cut the pieces of the triangle around the edges. Cut the playing cards and scatter them around the room, or you can enclose them inside the envelope. That is up to you and the level of challenge you want to create for the players.
